“I coach because I love
helping people achieve their goals.”

Two experiences sparked my love of coaching
It all started when I was 16 years old. I was working with youth at summer camps and loved every minute of it. Later, in college, at the University of Northern Colorado, I coached the middle-distance runners and designed programs for the winter and spring seasons. After that experience, I knew, one day I would eventually become a coach.

After coaching individuals off and on over the next 10 years, In 2010, I was offered the opportunity to coach the distance runners at Marin Catholic High School. After a successful five years as an assistant coach in XC and Track & Field, I was offered the position of head coach in 2015, I jumped at the chance! I have recently just finished my 10th year as the head coach at Marin Catholic.

My Philosophy:

  • Work with every single athlete to help them achieve their goals.
I set goals with my athletes to find out where they are, and where they want to be. Then we work together to make those goals a reality. When everyone on the team has clear direction and goals, the entire team benefits, as each athlete will push the person next to them to be better!

  • In return, all I ask from my athletes is to show up every day.
Attendance is key because if you aren’t there, you can’t improve.

RESULTS:

  • In 2015 (my first year as head coach), the Marin Catholic’s Track and Field program had 45 athletes and one Track and Field Pennant in the school’s 65-year history.

  • In 2019, coached the first-ever state champion at Marin Catholic in the 400 meters!

  • By 2020, the Track and Field program expanded to 130 athletes and we have added seven Track and Field pennants, including: Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) title, a North Coast Section (NCS) title, and back-to-back 2018 and 2019 State Champions!

  • In 2021, coached the second-ever state champion at Marin Catholic in the 800 meters!

  • Voted the 2021-2022 North Coast Section Coach of the Year for Women’s Track & Field at Marin Catholic!

  • I’m a big stats guy, so I love seeing my athletes improve on their marks no matter if they are trying to improve from an 8-minute mile to a 7-minute mile or trying to run their first sub-5-minute mile.
